Gao Yuanyuan on cover of L'Officiel Fashion Magazine
Chinese actress Gao Yuanyuan recently posed for the cover of the Chinese edition of the June/06 L'Officiel Fashion Magazine. As was to be expected, she looks really cute on the cover but, fans of hers will be interested in knowing that the French photographer made her pose for over 1000 pictures, with the entire photo shoot lasting over 8hrs! It was reported that afterwards Yuanyuan said she would never work with a French photographer again. Who can blame her!
Born on October.5, 1979, Gao was first discovered in the film Aiqing Mala Tang directed by Zhang Yang. Later she appeared in several TV series and films. She didn't get her fame until the 2003 version of famous Chinese martial arts TV series Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre (Yi Tian Tu Long Ji). She played the leading role Zhou Ziruo in the drama and soon won popularity among Chinese and other Asian viewers. Her fresh looking and outstanding acting skills in the hot TV series drew wide attention of big producers and renowned directors.
In year 2005, Gao Yuanyuan was on the red carpet at the 58th Cannes Film Festival with director Wang Xiaoshuai for her film Shanghai dreams (also known as Qing Hong). In the awarded movie, Gao played Qing Hong, a young 19-year-old girl living in the Guizhou Province where she grew up with her family and made her first friend and first lover. "Shanghai Dreams" won Jury prize at Cannes and Gao's name became recognizable throughout the country and outside. Soon after the festival, Gao was picked up by famous actor Jackie Chan to be his partner in the coming movie Project BB. According to Chan, Gao has the freshest looking and a chaste spirit that no Hong Kong actress could approach.
