Gong Li in Catfight for Best Actress Oscar
Gong Li once again showed us her incomparable elegance and high international status when she showed up in a sexy low-cut backless velvet evening dress on Sunday night at the 20th AFI Los Angeles International Film Festival.
The red hot Chinese 'Screen Queen' came out for the world premiere of Zhang Yimou's highly anticipated historical epic 'Curse of the Golden Flower' which successfully closed the year's AFI Fest one month prior to its domestic release from Sony Pictures Classics on November 12th. Gong walked the red carpet hand in hand with co-star Chow Yun Fat, bringing about joyous screams from thousands of her fans. Gong then hit an after party held by Sony Pictures Classics in Hollywood with director Zhang Yimou and actor Chow Yun Fat.
It was reported that Sony Pictures Classics was so impressed with the final cut of 'Curse of the Golden Flower' that the studio had officially decided to launch an Oscar best actress campaign for Gong Li and to promote Zhang Yimou for best director. More pictures after the jump!
