Chinese action star Jet Li, in town to promote his latest movie, is most often seen on screen playing the hero who fights for justice and love.

But in ''The Mummy: Tomb of The Dragon Emperor,'' he shows his more villainous side. In the third installment of the successful ''Mummy'' films, Li plays the villain, an all-new mummy from the catacombs of ancient China.

The movie again joins popular characters Rick and Evie O'Connell, and their now grown son Alex on an adventure after they unearth the mummy of an ancient Chinese emperor who was cursed by a wizard centuries ago.

''The oriental elements included in this movie cater to both domestic and foreign audiences,' Li said in Shanghai.

The film's action takes place in China, India, Egypt and London. One of the film's highlights is a fight scene between the emperor and the wizard, played by famous action actress Michelle Yeoh. The impressive action scene combines flavors from both ''East'' and ''West.''

Li said he has no other acting plans this year as he will focus on the One Foundation Project which has raised millions of yuan for charity since its launch last year.
