Charlie Yeung

Charlie Yeung entered show business as a singer, releasing her debut album in 1992. Charlie Yang Cai Ni was born in Taiwan and first noticed after appearing in a jewellery commercial with Aaron Kwok. Since then she has participated in the music videos of artists such as Hacken Lee, Takeshi Kaneshiro and Jacky Cheung. Charlie Yeung Choi Nei began acting in films almost immediately, and established herself as a serious film talent in Wong Kar Wai's ASHES OF TIME (1994), which also marks her feature film debut, and Tsui Hark's THE LOVERS (1994).

To the surprise and dismay of her many fans, Charlie Yeung retired from the industry after co-starring with Carina Lau in Jacob Cheung's INTIMATES (1997) and moved to Malaysia to work in other fields. She returned to Hong Kong cinema in 2004 with a starring role alongside Jackie Chan in Benny Chan's "New Police Story", and has gone on to appear in Tsui Hark's "Seven Swords" (2005), and to co-star with Andy Lau in "All About Love" (2005) and with Aaron Kwok in Patrick Tam's "After This, Our Exile" (2006). Charlie Yeung can be seen next to Nicolas Cage in the Pang Brothers' "Bangkok Dangerous"(2008).
