Dicky Cheung first began his entertainment career in 1984. Though Dicky worked very hard, his talent went to waste as he didn't get any recognition until the offer to play the role as the Monkey King in TV adaptation of the classical Chinese novel called "Journey To The West" in 1996. You may have noticed that Dicky Cheung Wai Kin was not in sight for the sequel as there was a contract dispute with TVB.
Soon after that, Dicky Zhang Wei Jian moved to Taiwan to continue his career. Dicky Cheung has been seen in many Hong Kong-Taiwan film productions and the most notable ones are "The Monkey King: Quest for The Sutra" in 2001 and Duke of Mount Deer 2000. The first was reproduced by the Cantopop Heavenly King, Andy Lau's NMG production.
