Jerry Yan, star of Taiwan's Meteor Garden Series, has worked himself well to carve himself a career outside F4 (now known as JVKV). An actor, singer, and model, he has achieved worldwide popularity, especially the Chinese-speaking crowd. He worked as a fashion model before venturing into acting, and Meteor Garden was the drama that brought him the fame he has today.

In August 2004, Yan Cheng Xu's first solo album was released, titled, "The First Time" (Jerry for You). Shortly after, in January 2005, he won the Most Popular Newcomer award in the 12th Chinese Music Awards held in Beijing, China.

Jerry Yan has also endorsed many products including Pepsi, S&K, and Bench clothing.
