Zhang Ziyi

Zhang Ziyi is one of Chinese film actresses who has succeeded in breaking through Hollywood market. Zhang Ziyi was born in Beijing on 9 February 1979. Ziyi is considered one of the Four Young Dan actresses in China, along with Zhao Wei, Xu Jinglei, and Zhou Xun.

With a string of Chinese and international hits to her name, she has worked with renowned directors such as Zhang Yimou, Ang Lee, Wong Kar-Wai, Chen Kaige, Seijun Suzuki and Rob Marshall.

Apart from famous directors, Zhang Ziyi has also starred in box office films both in China and US with the likes "The Road Home", "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon", "Hero", "Rush Hour 2", "House of The Flying Daggers", "Princess Raccoon", "The Banquet", "Forever Enthralled" and "The Horseman" with Dennis Quaid.

Zhang Ziyi is the face of Maybelline, Garnier and Shangri-la Hotel and Resort Group. She is also a Global Ambassador for the Special Olympics and a spokesperson for "Save the Children," a foster-home program in China.
